Marsala: Pantone Colour Of The Year 2015

Pantone have announced that marsala is the colour of the year for 2015 and described it as “naturally robust and earthy wine red”, a warm and elegant shade that “enriches our minds, bodies and souls”. We are sure it will inspire many brides-to-be who are planning to tie the knot in 2015.

Marsala is a sophisticated choice if you want to add a pop of colour to your classical wedding décor. You can use it for floral arrangements, candleholders and wedding stationery to add finishing touches or even include it in your wedding menu! Think ombre red velvet cake or macaron towers in marsala, colourful cocktails and even your tiered wedding cake.

Marsala blends well with all shades of pink and ivory, but you can create exciting contrasts with light blues and greens as well. For table settings, stationery and bonbonniere, think colour schemes that combine marsala with soft grey or gold, or stick to traditional designs and use this gorgeous shade for subtle detailing.

If you are looking for a chic colour for a bridal bouquet or bridesmaid’s dresses, marsala is a great option and can be easily combined with a range of colours, including whites and ivories, but it can also be used for jewellery, hair accessories and even make-up. This trendy shade can also work for your engagement ring and we think it looks equally good with yellow, white and rose gold, as well as platinum.
