Engagement Shoot: Will You Have One?

Engagement photos can be used for save-the-date cards or gifts for your family members, and the shoot is great opportunity to get to know your wedding photographer.

An engagement shoot often comes as part of your wedding photography package and is a fantastic opportunity to practise posing in front of the camera before the big day. Even if you have to pay a little extra, we think it is well worth it for the fabulous images you will have as a memento of this very special time in your life. You will meet your wedding photographer, try out different angles and receive a set of images you can use for many different purposes.

Create images that stand out!

Your pre-wedding shoot images will make a great addition to your wedding album. You can be creative with choosing locations and outfits but also try different poses. It can be a lot of fun! You can pick a specific theme or even a destination that is meaningful to you both. Why not make a trip to your favourite beach or pick a picturesque setting in the countryside, go to your favourite park or even draw your own backdrops!

The shoot is a great rehearsal for your wedding day shoot. Your photographer will have a lot of great ideas about where to go for the shoot, but you should also do your research and find inspiration in the stunning images on bridesdiary.com.au.

Make the best use of the photos…

Except for sharing them with your friends and family, posting them on social media and keeping them in a beautiful photo album, the photos can be used for many other purposes. Many brides and grooms like to use their best shot for the save-the-date card. Just print it on cards, add appropriate wording in a cool font and you will have a fabulous design with minimum effort. Some couples even use special props and photo backdrops to create the snap they will use for their save-the-date card.

Another way to utilise the photos is to print your favourites, put them in elegant frames and give them to your closest family members as gifts. You can also use them to add a personal touch to your wedding stationery, bomboniere or table numbers, and if you want to announce your engagement in the newspapers, why not highlight your listing with a beautiful photo!
