Erin & Paul • 22.09.12

Erin and Paul met seven years ago at a local hotel. The ever-cheeky Paul approached Erin and asked her to buy him a drink.

Although he was promptly turned down, Erin couldn’t quite get Paul out of her mind – and when the pair eventually started talking, they quickly realised that there was a wonderful chemistry between them.

Four years on and they had bought a home of their own and their family had expanded to include two very cute puppies.

A year later, Paul worked up the courage to ask Erin’s father if he could propose – and when he did, it was worth the wait.

He took Erin for a wonderful dinner at a waterfront restaurant. Dark clouds rolled in as they were eating, but Paul still insisted that they take an after-dinner stroll to the nearby lighthouse. Once there, Paul dropped to one knee and before he had managed to utter a word, an ecstatic Erin was jumping for joy. Of course, Erin happily agreed to his proposal!

With the beach as their style inspiration, the couple opted for a blue and yellow colour palette that they used to great effect in both their invitations and wedding day decorations.

Erin chose the divine ‘Evangeline’ princess gown by Brides Desire by Aires & Graces. Featuring a sweetheart neckline, Swarovski crystals and a nine-layer fabric and net skirt, the gown was the perfect choice for her!?She accessorised with a veil and headpiece, stunning drop earrings and white shoes decorated with pearls.

Her bridesmaids wore gorgeous full-length watermelon toned dresses and carried pretty-coloured bouquets, while Paul and his groomsmen opted for grey three piece suits with white shirts and silk ties.

The day couldn’t have been more perfect for a beach-side wedding on the Foreshore of The Lagoon. To surprise Erin, Paul arranged for Benji and Typh, the couple’s dogs, to be walked down the aisle to greet them after they had been pronounced man and wife. Figurines of the pups also featured on Erin and Paul’s cake topper, much to the delight of their guests.

The reception at Wollongong’s Lagoon Restaurant was a wonderful celebration: a slideshow presentation featured photos from both the couple’s childhoods and the present day, while a fun photo booth and props kept guests endlessly entertained, and a delectable candy bar organised entirely by Erin’s bridesmaids was a huge success.

Following a dreamy first dance to Evermore’s Never Let Me Go, the floor quickly filled with guests who happily danced the night away. And, after an unforgettable wedding day, the couple honeymooned in fabulous Fiji.
